This fairing can be used with the fully suspended Meerkat to create a fast, head-in or out velomobile

Steintrikes are light, agile tricycles, with a unique modular design that allows the main frame to be combined with a variety of different rear sections. The front section of the frame is combined with a rear triangle for a 26" rear wheel in the Roadshark, with a triangle for a 20" rear wheel in the Viper, and with a suspended rear end for a 20" wheel in the Nomad. This means that if you start with a Roadshark, it is easy to upgrade to a rear suspended Nomad by simply purchasing and installing the Nomad rear end.
The modular Steintrike design concept also makes it possible to split the trike into separate sections for transport so that it will fit into a very small carrier such as a large tennis bag.
The narrow track width utilized in the Steintrikes designs (track width 28.3") makes possible a very high straight line top speed. Over approximately 18 mph, a trike with a wider track will be noticably slower due to the wake of the two front wheels. When a Steintrike is viewed from the rear, it can be seen that the wakes of the two front wheels are located in the surge of air of the body and do not cause as much additional aerodynamic drag.
An ergonomic meshback seat, with built in lumbar support and back rest angle adjustable between 30° and 45° comes standard. Fiberglass hardshell seats are also available. The glass fiber seat is approximately 1.5 pounds lighter and additionally reduces the turning circle of the Steintrike from about 14 feet to about 11 feet.
Mounting points for an optional rear disk brake and dynamo are also standard.
Steintrikes can be reduced in size and folded flat for transport in a car in about 5 minutes through the following procedure:
The width and inclination of the handle bar is adjustable by means of a pair of clamps, and it can also be quickly folded flat for transport.
Each model is available as a complete trike or as a frameset.
Framesets include the following:
The disk braked front wheels can be removed without having to touch the brake by unscrewing a bolt, removing the axle and dropping the front wheel straight down. The seat is laid back by loosening the high-grade steel clamps that hold it in place by one turn. Finally, the main bolt behind the seat is loosened by two turns, and the entire tail is rotated by 90° so that it lays flat.

Mad Max Evo 3 is the third generation of Steintrikes original fully suspended all purpose trike that has seen several improvements, including decreased weight. Each of the front two wheels are fitted with double wishbone supension . The frame structure of the front axle unit provides for maximum rigidity with the least amount of weight. The shock struts are installed between the wishbones which makes possible long spring travel and the possibility of tuning the firmness of the ride to your preference.
As is the case for all of the Steintrikes, every effort was made to keep the frontal area as small as possible so that the trike achieves as high a top speed as possible. With this in mind, the track has been held to 71 cm in combination with the more aero 16 inch (349mm) front wheels, and a seat height of 10.5 inches (27 cm) while maintaining frame to ground clearance at nearly 6 inches (15 cm).
Thomas Seide of Bike-revolution co-designed the Mad Max and a number of videos can be seen online of him putting the Mad Max through it's paces.

Steintrikes Explorer comes with 75 mm suspension travel on all three wheels, based on the Mungo and Mad Max proven concept with the low seat height of 28 cm, a narrow track width of 75 cm and an efficient bottom bracket height of 20-24 cm (above the seat), a small cross section and extremely good coasting that beats every unsuspended trike.
Even with narrow racing tires it is possible to negotiate small curbs at full speed. For luggage a light lowrider rack can be fitted, that can carry 2 big panniers of around 60 litres capacity. The luggage is, as on other Steintrikes, placed far forward so the trike can attain high speed in turns when fully loaded.
The Explorer also can be ordered in different configurations.
The rear wheel size is always 26 inches, with 3 front wheel variants: Explorer 16", 18" or 20" front wheels. The rear shock can be adjusted so the frames attitude and steering stays the same.

SPECS:

Recumbent tandems have several advantages over solo trikes when two people have to travel simultaneously.
Not all components are doubled. Instead of six wheels, there are only three, so it is in fact a regular recumbent trike with a longer frame which allows two people to travel together. Sitting one behind the other, the aerodynamics are much better because only one person's body surface is cutting the air. Generally over 50% gain has been achieved when combined with the lower overall weight (compared to two solo trikes). Steinrtrikes has further reduced the weight of the Magnum by utilizing the16" (which are also stronger) rather than 20" front wheels. The 16" front wheels also provide a fantastic turning capability - with a turning circle of approximately 17 feet, the Magnum can make a "U" turn on most roads
The Magnum has two adjustable seats, adjustable handlebars, can be easily taken apart for storage or transport, comes with disc brakes in front and in the back as standard, as well as dynamo mounth and additional pivot mounts for V-type brakes in the back. Additionally, the Magnum can be converted into a solo trike for those periods when it is not being used as a tandem trike. To maintain a properly operating Ackerman compensation with the steering, Steintrikes supplies two different sets of critical steering components which must be replaced during the conversion from solo to tandem and vice versa. Although the interconversion process is not overly complicated, and all tools necesary to perform the conversion are included, it is also not intended as a procedure that would be carried out more than perhaps 2 or 3 times a year.

Steintrikes will custom build your trike to fit you, and several measurements must be provided to ensure the best fit possible. We will need your height, x-seam measurement, and weight. To obtain your X-seam measurement, sit with your back to a wall. Position yourself so that the small of your back is all the way against the wall and your shoe soles are perpendicular to the ground. If that is too uncomfortable, place a book or two behind you. Then measure from the wall (or book) to the sole of your shoes.
When ordering your Steintrike, you have a number of choices to make:
Steintrikes offers three type of rims - single wall comes standard, with ALEX DV15 and Aero rims (30mm deep) also available.
A variety of Colors are available in powder coat:
50% deposit required with order, with balance due upon delivery.
